Available to Students of FAAD Programs
The Central Equipment Room offers access to a general pool of equipment for students actively enrolled in any FAAD program. The loaning of this equipment is intended exclusively for student assignments and projects and not for personal use. Students should familiarize themselves with the Equipment Rental Terms & Conditions policy and the Equipment Loan Strike and Extension policy.
The available equipment includes:
- Canon 60D DSLR camera kit with EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens, SD card, 1 battery & charger, does not support realtime auto-focus when recording video — in a soft case — [manual]
- Canon 6D Full Frame DSL camera kit with EF-S 24-105mm f/4.0L IS USM lens, SD card, 1 battery & charger, does not support realtime auto-focus when recording video — in a soft case — [manual]
- Basic tripod (Velbon C-500 & similar) — light duty, not in a case
Tripod weight: 3.6 lb / 1.6kg
- Heavy duty tripods (Manfrotto 501) — large, heavy tripod, in a soft bag/case
Tripod weight: 15.2 lb / 6.8kg
- Zoom H4n audio recorder kit with SD card — in a hard case — [manual]
- Assorted handheld microphones from brands like Sony
- XLR cable 25 ft. (for H4n, microphone)
PLEASE NOTE
* The CER does not offer GEN lighting equipment
* GEN equipment is first come, first served to walk-in renters – we do not pre-book GEN equipment
* All GEN equipment can be rented for a maximum of 3 business days with default return time of 12:00 PM
e.g., If you rent on a Tue, you may keep the equipment (1)Wed, (2)Thu, (3)Fri return date by 12 noon – if the 3rd day falls on a day we are closed (Sat, Sun, holiday) the return date is bumped to the next day we are open.
